Service Description

Learn how to make a variety of delicious baked goods and luscious fillings using our tried and tested recipes. Saturday 8th May 9:30am to 4pm Price: $95 In this interactive demonstration you will learn how to make: - Smooth Italian Meringue Buttercream - Salted Caramel Drip & Buttercream - Alison's Melt n Mix Chocolate Cake/Cupcakes - Easy Vanilla Cake/Cupcakes - Red Velvet Mud Cake Mix You will learn the correct method for making Italian Meringue Buttercream and how it is different to Swiss Meringue Buttercream, how to colour and flavour it, storage and shelf life, and troubleshooting tips and tricks. Alison will also teach you how to make salted caramel buttercream, how this recipe can be adapted to make the perfect caramel drip, its various applications, storage and shelf life, and troubleshooting tips and tricks. In the baking part of the demo you'll learn everything you need to know about making and baking chocolate cake, vanilla cake, and Bakels red velvet mud cake. You will learn about the different baking times required for cupcakes and cakes, how to adjust your recipes for different size cake tins, and how to easily modify the recipes to make different flavours. Alison will also guide you through how to correctly store your cakes and icings and their appropriate shelf lives, and provide you with endless troubleshooting tips and tricks. You will also learn about the differences and benefits of making/baking from scratch and using bakery quality packet mixes and fillings. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in making each of these recipes and taste along the way. This demonstration is all inclusive, you don't have to bring a thing and no prior experience is required. All recipes and notes will be provided for you so you can make these at home! Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the demonstration start time. Enclosed shoes are required.

Cancellation Policy

By booking your place in this class you agree that in the 2 weeks prior to the class date you: - Have not travelled overseas or interstate. - Have not been in contact with a known Coronavirus case. - Have not experienced any flu-like symptoms including coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat or fatigue. Class Terms & Conditions: By booking into a class at Caking Mad you agree to the following terms and conditions: - Class deposits are non-refundable if cancelling within 2 weeks of the class date, unless the class is cancelled by Caking Mad. - Any deposit refunded upon student withdrawal will have a $20 booking fee deducted. - The deposit is only transferrable to another class (expiry 6 months) if you cancel more than 2 weeks before the class date. - If you are no longer able to attend the class you may send a friend/other person in your place (this must be organised by yourself and we ask that you let us know as a courtesy who is coming along in your place) - If you commence one of our term long classes and decide for any reason that you cannot continue or complete the class there will be no refund and no transfer to another term. Refunds will not be given if you miss a lesson. Make up classes will be charged at the rate of a private lesson at a time that is mutually convenient. - Refunds or class transfers are not given for "no shows". It is your responsibility to remember your class booking. Caking Mad will notify you of any changes to the original time schedule. - If you do not attend a class for any reason you are not entitled to the class materials, notes, tools, equipment or consumables included for that class. - If for any reason the class is cancelled by Caking Mad you will receive a notification and a full refund. - Minimum numbers are required for a class to go ahead, cancellation is at the discretion of Caking Mad if situation changes due to government direction. You will be contacted at least 24 hours prior to your class for cancellations, or changes. Caking Mad often take photographs during classes which are featured on our website and social media pages. Please let one of our staff members know prior to the class if you do not wish to be photographed. Caking Mad will provide class notes and recipes for many of our classes which are for your use only & not for distribution to others. Likewise, you may take photos during class and take your own notes for your future reference. All students are expected to behave in a polite and considerate manner towards staff and other students. Any student who, in the sole opinion of Caking Mad staff, is in breach of this may be asked to leave the class and will not be refunded the cost of the class. Caking Mad Children’s Classes and Parties – Terms and Conditions Children’s Parties and Private Classes are run similarly to our other Children’s Classes with the addition of the following: - For Private Parties, at least two(2) responsible adults are to remain for the duration of the party/class. - For Kids School Holidays Classes, a responsible adult is required to stay with your child for the duration of the class. We suggest 1 adult per 1 or 2 children works well. - Child discipline, hygiene, toilet duties, and general management of the party are the responsibility of parents/adults attending. At Caking Mad we are responsible for delivering the class material and teaching your children cake decorating techniques. - If an additional staff member of Caking Mad is required for the above duties in a Private Class or Party an additional fee will apply. - Please ensure all children are appropriately dressed. This includes neat, clean clothing, enclosed shoes and long hair tied up. We provide aprons for all students in our classes. - Children between ages 5-18 are welcome to attend our Kids Classes. - Some Adult Classes at Caking Mad are suitable for children aged 12+ when attending with an adult who is also attending the class. Hire Stand Terms & Conditions: As per the hire description a deposit is required to be paid when picking up the cake stand. This will be refunded to you when the stand is returned in good condition. Stands for hire can only be picked up during our normal trading hours. Hire period is for a maximum of 4 days unless otherwise arranged.
